Tithes & Giving
Biblical GIVING in simple words.
Tithe is 10% of your Talents, Time, and Treasures. Offerings are anything other than that.
An obvious manifestation of God's heart and mind as a follower of Jesus is the virtue of Generosity (in all aspects of lifetime, talent, and treasures). A Christian Life - at its best is a life of worship (our life as a worship offering to the Lord). Tithes is the number one worship offering of our patriarchs of the faith in the Old Testament - to God Almighty.
In the New Testament, Jesus' teachings on giving is a holistic approach than tithes in that the Lord teaches about giving our whole life for the Kingdom of God. At its best - that includes our treasures/money and whole life, dead to things of this world and living for His kingdom (aka- Christ-centered).
God the Father Almighty gave it all so that we will be reconciled unto him by sending Jesus to us. He was born human yet, sinless as a God's son, one with the Father. He ministered to us - and then died on the cross for all of our sins to become our one and only savior so that we can receive all of Heaven's blessings.
The goals of Tithe/Giving are either a worship offering or due to need in your life. Whatever is your goal, it is important that you give with a FAITH decree or declaration to make it work in your life. Give a purpose to your giving to make it work as it is meant to be. Open Heaven blessings, Favor, and Protection are the ultimate ones and this will happen when your intimacy with the Lord is permanently at the Third Heaven level.
